Have you ever been to a Matthew West concert? We were invited to go to see him several months ago. He puts on a great show and has some great songs. We had the chance to hear one of Matthew’s recent releases live, called “Don’t Stop Praying.” What an amazing song. Here are the lyrics of the chorus:
Don't stop praying
Don't stop calling on Jesus' name
Keep on pounding on heaven's door
Let your knees wear out the floor
Don't stop believing
'Cause mountains move with just a little faith
And your Father's heard every single word you're saying
So, don't stop praying
Have you heard it before? It can be heard on many Christian radio stations. It has so many applications, but I can’t help but think of Haiti when I heard this song. I hear comments from so many people about how much aid has been poured into that country and it only seems to get worse. So much of that is due to corruption, and it’s not just on the part of the Haitians. But there is still hope.
God is still working in Haiti, as He is in every other country around the world. There are still people following Christ and moving forward on their faith journey every day. We don’t know what is in store for Haiti. But we know that God is in control and that there is hope for the people and for the country. Please don’t stop praying for Haiti and all the Christian ministries that are helping to draw more people to Christ.

This theme is supported by the Bible in several places. Here are a few:
"Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God's people."
-- Ephesians 6:18
“Have no cares, but in everything with prayer and praise put your request before God.”
-- Philippians 4:6
How has this song impacted you? Have you been tempted to stop praying for something? What do you need to keep praying for? Salvation for a loved one? Healing from a sickness or disease? A damaged relationship? A boldness in sharing your faith? New opportunities to spread the gospel message?
Whatever it is, don’t stop praying.
