Merry Christmas from the McGarveys!

Merry Christmas!

We want to take a few moments to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! We want to encourage you to slow down through this typically busy season and reflect on the Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus.

It has been a busy season as we continue to deal with new challenges in Haiti, but we have taken the time to participate in 2 different Live Nativity events in our community. Denise and Randy filled the roles of Mary & Joseph at a cantata in our community, and Randy filled the role of King Herod for our church event. It was a meaningful time for us to pause and reflect, despite the added steps for costume fitting and rehearsals. We heard that the events were amazingly successful in helping others pause and reflect along with us.

Thank you all for your unceasing support of our work in Haiti. Our impact there continues to grow, as the living situation for many families gets more and more challenging. Life in Haiti has been stable for many areas outside of the gang-controlled Port au Prince region. But the chaos in Port au Prince and increased, causing more challenges to those Haitians outside that region. Many stores and open markets in Haiti obtain merchandise that has to go through Port au Prince. The gangs have made transporting that merchandise even more difficult and more expensive through makeshift “tolls” on the road, and robberies along the way.

But God….

“But God….” Those never-failing two words just continue to resound in our heads. But God:

  • has been unfailing in providing for the needs of the Haitian children in our care
  • continues to show us pathways to reach new families in the communities around us
  • has brought many new needs to our attention
  • brings resources to our ministry to help us reach more families in crisis
  • keeps us connected to our team in Haiti through reliable technology
  • provides us with faithful prayer warriors and financial supporters that partner with us to be the hands and feet of Jesus
  • and the list of God’s blessings just goes on

Here are a few recent updates from Hands and Feet Project that share specific details about children, families and programs that we are working with:
