Back to School Update

It’s time for back-to-school planning in Haiti! We appreciate all the support we’ve received for our school supply drive. It’s always amazing to see such a generous outpouring of support each school season. There are always new school uniforms needed, along with many books and supplies for our growing community that we support. The outstanding needs on our Project Essentials fundraiser page continue to drop as more people donate towards this cause. There’s a story about Marvens and his experience with school in a recent post from Hands & Feet Project that fills in some details of the impact that you can have on school children in Haiti.

We continue to look for opportunities for a trip to Haiti in order to see our Haitian co-workers face-to-face, visit with our bookkeepers that I talk to online nearly every day, to work on computers, and to take in replacement network equipment after some recent failures. Please pray for our ministry team as small groups of staff are in and out of Haiti.

Please also pray that the start of school is not delayed this year. The beginning of the school season often triggers more roadblocks and protests for various reasons. We also want to share a link to a story about one of our school tutors who has worked with us for many years. He has a passion for helping kids learn and grow into their full potential.

“Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.” – Proverbs 1:5
